SELKIRK based performance company Creative Stage are excited to announce their six-day stint at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
A cast of 15 young performers will travel to the international festival to present A Chorus Line: High School Edition to audiences.
Their clever concept musical captures the spirit and tension of professional performers, auditioning for a job in a Broadway show.
Standing in a line, the director asks them all about themselves which allows each character to shine through music or monologue.
A fusion of song, dance and compelling drama, the troupe’s hour-long show will have something for everyone.
Held at the Paradise in Augustines in George IV Bridge, Venue 152 in the Fringe programme, the young stars can expect an audience of up to 110 people.
One of the talented youngsters at rehearsals is Holly Nichol from Galashiels, who has been involved with Creative Stage since it began and has since gone on to study at the MGA Academy of Performing Arts in Edinburgh.
She told us: “We are all so excited to be able to take A Chorus Line to Edinburgh Fringe!
“It’s a classic show that would excite any Musical Theatre student to be a part of with it’s big dance routines, comedy numbers and more.
“We would love it if the people of the Scottish Borders would come and support us.”
They first started rehearsals last September as they prepared to perform A Chorus Line at the Volunteer Hall in Galashiels in the next months.
Then after a deserving few months off, the group rallied together for more rehearsals in April for the Fringe event.
Creative Stage was established in 2012 by professional performers Marie McCullough and Katie Robinson.
Since then the teaching pair have set about developing the skills and confidence in the all the young performers, frequently holding summer school and shows.
A Chorus Line will run from August 12 to 17 at 3.15pm.
