A BORDERS housing association is eradicating emissions with a new fleet of electric vehicles.
Eildon introduced the new Nissan LEAF cars and Nissan E-NV200 vans earlier this month.
And dedicated charging points have also been introduced at the social landlord's headquarters in Selkirk.
The vehicles have all been leased in partnership with Scottish Borders Council.
John Duncan, director of Property Assets at Eildon commented: “Eildon is committed to ensuring we comply with the legislative requirements set for national targets, but we want to go beyond that, and positively promote best practice as a responsible and forward-looking organisation.
"Innovative new methods like this are key to what we are aiming to achieve, and this new electric fleet demonstrates our commitment.”
The new vehicles produce zero emissions, and with improvements in battery technology they can travel up to 187 miles on a single charge.
The new charging points, which are live on Charge Place Scotland, are open to the public for vehicle charging.
