PEEBLES Golf Club held its annual Odd Shaped Ball Golf Day on Saturday, with 42 teams and 168 competitors taking part.
Thanks to the generosity of members and guests, a record amount of £2,000 was raised, which will go towards the development of junior golf in Peebles.
The weather played its part with the sun beating down all day, leading to a few frazzled players, although that was perhaps largely down to the pin position on the 17th green.
Winning the top prize of a four-ball at Dunbar Golf Club and a £30 voucher each was the team of Robert Hunter, Dale Thornton, Michael Horsburgh and Jamie Ferguson with a superb nett score of 54.7.
Thanks to a birdie-laden front nine of 26, the quartet of Andrew Pretswell accompanied by Alan, Ross and Murray Aiken clinched the runners-up spot on 56.2, while third place went to former captain Graham Lowther and his team of son Fearghas, Kevin Blacklaw and comeback king Davie Heald.
A huge thanks to all the sponsors who contributed to such a fantastic day, with Eden Collins taking home the top raffle prize of a PING wedge, while Brian Robson scooped the Shotscope Performance GPS golf watch donated by HowDidIDo.
