A TALENTED young actor is set to make her directorial debut later this month.

Esmé Babineaux has been treading the boards since she was just six years old.

A hugely successful career on the stage has taken her to some of the biggest theatres in the country.

Ahead of setting up her own theatre company next year she is taking on her first director's role for First Steps by Anita John.

The play will be performed with three other short plays under the banner, Unveiled Secrets, across the Borders.

Also being performed are three plays by Melrose-based Oliver Eade - Give the Dog a Bone, The Other Nathan and The Other Cat.

Erin Christie from Galashiels Academy appears in three of the plays.

Unveiled Secrets will be performed at The County Hotel in Selkirk on September 27, the following evening at Carlops Village Hall, at the MacArts in Galashiels on October 4, and concludes at the Eastgate Theatre in Peebles on October 11.

Profits from the sale of tickets from Unveiled Secrets will go towards the charity Children 1st.
