A NEWSTEAD man who was in charge of three Jack Russell terriers which attacked a flock of sheep has been fined £300 at Selkirk Sheriff Court.

Terence Drum committed the offence on agricultural land at Eddy Road Fields in Newstead on January 17.

The 57-year-old bus driver's lawyer told the court the dogs had never behaved like that before and he was unaware of sheep ever being in the field before.
