A 27-year-old man who admitted a break-in at a Borders caravan park has avoided a prison sentence at Jedburgh Sheriff Court.
Brian Taylor pleaded guilty to stealing three bottles of spirits from the Lilliardsedge Tavern, near Ancrum, on May 21.
He also admitted driving while disqualified, with no insurance and failing to give a two samples of breath at Hawick Police Station.
Taylor was ordered to carry out 180 hours unpaid and given an eight months night time curfew at his home in Blaydon-on-Tyne, Gateshead.
In addition he was disqualified from driving for a total of 38 months for the motoring offences.
