A CLIMATE change charity is looking for Borderers to have their say at a newly-formed focus group - and they also get paid.

Environmental charity, Keep Scotland Beautiful, wants locals from in and around Galashiels to share their opinions on how climate change affects everyday lives.

The charity is mainly focusing on individuals who don’t have climate change at the top of their agenda or aren't up to speed on the issues.

And everyone who takes part will be paid £25 for the two hours of their time.

Alistair Seaman, the climate change manager of Keep Scotland Beautiful, told us: “It is really important that everyone is part of the conversation about climate change.

"We are keen to hear from residents that don’t normally consider, think or talk that much about climate change.

“You don’t need to bring any experience or any knowledge to the table.

"We just want to talk to you and have a discussion about your priorities and hear your views.”

The focus group has been organised by the charity Keep Scotland Beautiful in association with the Scottish Government as a part of The Big Climate Conversation.

The group aims to identify what changes people in Scotland are willing to make to tackle the climate crisis and what they expect of the government at the same.

The event is taking place at Langlee Community Centre in Galashiels on Thursday, September 26 from 5.30pm until 7.30pm and requires registration at: www.keepscotlandbeautiful.org/galashiels.
