AN appeal has been made for photographs and memorabilia from Yarrow Show down the ages.

Next year the popular agricultural extravaganza will celebrate its 100th staging.

And organisers are keen to produce a memorable exhibition to chart its history.

The organising committee were recently awarded £2,600 from the Langhope Rig Windfarm Community Fund to purchase display boards for the exhibition, as well as new jumps equipment.

Doreen Davies from The Yarrow & Ettrick Pastoral Society told us: "The money will go towards two projects - the purchase of display boards and replacement jumps for the working hunter classes at the show.

"The latter will not only be easier to erect and store, but will mean safer jumping for both horse and rider.

"The display boards will mean more effective set-ups in the industrial tent and enable the Society to mount a special exhibition at next year's Show.

"Anyone with photographs, special memories or memorabilia from Yarrow Show through the years is encouraged to get in touch."

The 2020 show will be held at Philiphaugh on September 12.

The first ever Yarrow Show was held in 1906, but didn't take place during either of the world wars.
