A JEDBURGH man accused of being in charge of a car while more than five times the legal alcohol limit has been found not guilty at the town's sheriff court.
Christopher Smethurst, 47, of Brucefield House, Rennieston, had denied the offence which was said to have happened in High Street, Jedburgh, on June 16.
It was alleged he had a breath/alcohol reading of 119 microgrammes - the legal limit being 22.
But he was found not guilty by Sheriff Colin Dunipace following a trial.
