X FACTOR fans flocking to the MacArts next month should set their alarms a little earlier than planned.
Lucy Spraggan arrives in Galashiels on Friday, November 1.
Becoming the first contestant in the ITV talent show's history to have a top 40 single and album before the live shows aired, Lucy has become a firm favourite with a string of best-selling albums over the past six years.
And she will be a huge draw for music lovers from across the Borders when she takes to the MacArts stage.
But, although never appearing on Simon Cowell's show, the support act for the Galashiels date also has that X factor.
Katie Kittermaster has been balancing exam studies with her fledgling musical career ever since bursting onto the scene two years ago with the track T Shirt.
Her debut song went on to win both the Commonwealth and UK song of the year competitions.
And she has supported artists such as Olly Murs, Louisa Johnson and Boyzlife over the past year.
The 17-year-old, who is about to release her debut five-track EP Coming Home at Dawn, hopes to win over audiences up and down the country as she opens for Lucy.
Katie said: "Music is a really powerful outlet for my own emotions and I hope this comes across when I perform."
As well as T Shirt, Katie's other compositions have earned her a place in the finals of the Lyricist of the Year Awards.
A spokeswoman for the forthcoming Luct Spraggan tour said: "With astute and honest lyrics and a voice as beautiful as Katie has, it’s a guarantee that this tour will gain her well-deserved fans all over the place, just in time for the release of her wonderfully cosy EP, Coming Home at Dawn."
Lucy Spraggan and Katie Kittermaster play the MacArts on Friday, November 1.
Tickets are availbale from the box office.
