SKERRYVORE are coming home to Scotland for Christmas.

And they plan to get into the festive spirit with a party at Selkirk's Victoria Halls.

Skerryvore’s ability to fuse traditional Scottish music and rhythms with a range of other genres is a trademark of their distinctive, high-energy sound.

For more than a decade brothers, Daniel (Accordion) and Martin Gillespie (pipes, whistles and accordion), their friends Fraser West (drums) and Alec Dalglish (guitar and vocals), have been thrilling audiences all over the world.

The addition of Craig Espie (fiddle), Jodie Bremaneson (bass) and Alan Scobie on (keyboards) and their sound became even greater.

With awards galore and sell-out tours all under their belt, 2019 has been Skerryvore’s busiest year to date, with performances in the USA, Canada, Australia, and all over Europe.

But now they are returning to Scotland for the festive season.

And to kick off the celebrations they will play the Victoria Halls on Saturday, December 14.

Drummer Fraser West told us: "Winter tour dates usually find the band at home in Scotland.

"It gives us the chance to spend the festive season with our families.

“Selkirk’s Victoria Halls is a new venue for us, and we’d like to think it will be the first of a number of returns to different Borders venues.”

The Skerryvore in Selkirk show starts at 7.30pm.

Tickets, priced at £20, are available from the Live Borders website.
