NHS Borders has had to fork out more than £7,000 in compensation for losing patients' dentures over the past three years.
Regular claims have been made against the local health board for false teeth either being lost or stolen during hospital stays.
In 2016/17 NHS Borders settled missing denture claims to the value of £2,836, and the following year paid out £1,384.
During last year, 2018/19, payments worth £2,975 were made for replacement teeth.
The health board has also paid out almost £5,000 in claims for lost or stolen hearing aids during the same period.
And claims worth almost £2,500 for missing glasses have also been settled.
Payments worth more than £350 have been made for shoes and items of clothing going missing.
Other claims which have been paid out since 2016/17 include almost £500 in phones, £179 for a set of earphones, £180 for an electric shaver, and £250 for missing jewellery.
