PUPILS and staff have been evacuated from Peebles High School following a lunchtime blaze.
And latest reports from the emergency services state that everyone has been evacuated from the building safely.
Fire crews were called to the school just before 1pm.
It is understood the blaze started in the art department.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Operations Control have mobilised six fire appliances and one height appliance to the scene, and crews remain in attendance.
“The school has been fully evacuated, and all persons accounted for.”
Parents are being asked not to attempt to collect their children in cars as access is required for emergency services vehicles.
