A HAWICK man will stand trial at Jedburgh Sheriff Court charged with causing a disturbance at Borders General Hospital and assaulting police officers.
Alexander Deans of Earl Street, pleaded not guilty to shouting and swearing, singing loudly and spitting on the floor of the toilet area at the hospital on September 19 as well as inside a police vehicle.
He is also accused of making threatening, offensive and homophobic comments.
The 38-year-old is also accused of spitting at a female police officer at the hospital and seizing a male constable by the neck.
Deans pleaded not guilty to a fourth charge of being drunk and incapable in Backdamgate, Hawick, earlier that day and being incapable of looking after himself.
A trial date has been fixed for November 28.
