POLICE are appealing for help to catch two thieves who raided Lauder Post Office in the early hours of this morning.

The culprits were disturbed by the post master at the Market Street premises at around 5am.

But they still managed to escape with a quantity of cash.

Officers have carried out a search of the area and carried out door-to-door enquiries this morning.

PC Liam Myers said: "It appears that the break-in may have caused quite some noise.

"We are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the Lauder area in the early hours of this morning."

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting 0301 and December 3.
