A 25-year-old man who admitted a drug-dealing charge after £30,000 worth of cannabis was recovered from the vehicle he was driving has been jailed for 14 months.
Albanian-national Oljan Bala pleaded guilty to being in possession of the class B drug with intent to supply on the A1 road at Burnmouth in Berwickshire, on August 31.
The offence came to light after police officers pulled over an Audi A4 car near to the Scotland/England border.
Sheriff Peter Paterson told Bala, of no fixed abode, he would have been jailed for 21 months but took into account the early guilty plea.
The sentence was back-dated at Selkirk Sheriff Court to September 2 when Bala was first remanded in custody.
