STUDENTS from Peebles High School will be able to attend pastoral and curricular drop-in sessions for the remainder of the week to support them emotionally, help with UCAS applications and to help guide learning on certain subjects.

Pastoral staff will be available from today (Wednesday, December 4) until Friday, December 6 at the council office, Rosetta Road, Peebles. On Wednesday (today) the staff will be in the office from 10am to 4pm, on Thursday, 9am to 4pm and on Friday, 9am to 1pm.

Staff will be on site to help with UCAS and Oxbridge applications as well as providing emotional support to those affected by the fire.

As well as Peebles High staff, partners from Quarriers, Skills Development Scotland (Careers), and Educational Psychology and School Nurse Service will be in attendance to provide another layer of support to students.

Students can join these sessions by calling 01835 826549 to book an appointment or if they are unable to be there in person, students can use a telephone consultation service available through the same number.

For curricular support, staff will be on site at the Peebles Community Centre (Drill Hall) and Kingsland Primary School today (December 4) and tomorrow (December 5) from 10.45am to 4pm and on Friday, December 6 from 10.45am to 1pm.

Today's sessions will focus on S4-S6 students, tomorrow's will focus on S1-S3 and Friday will be open to all students.

Drop-in support from the Community Centre will cover English and RMPS; Health and Life Skills; All Sciences; Business and Computing, and support from Kingsland Primary will cover Maths; Social Subjects; Modern Languages; Technical; Expressive Arts.

Telephone booking for these sessions can be made from 9am everyday and phone call support is also available to students who can't attend the drop-in sessions.
