AN appeal has been launched after a man was robbed and threatened with a knife near Kelso.

The incident happened on the A6089 just north of the town between 2pm and 5pm yesterday (Wednesday).

Cash was stolen and officers are appealing for anyone who saw a blue coloured MG vehicle, with the registration SO03 KXZ, leaving the scene.

The 37-year-old victim was uninjured and walked back towards Kelso after the incident, along Edinburgh Road and then onto Roxburgh Street, before alerting the police.

Detective Constable Andrew Loughlin, Galashiels Police Station, said: "We are trying to piece together exactly what happened here and are appealing for anyone who may have been driving along this stretch of road yesterday afternoon who may have information to come forward.

"Do you remember seeing the blue coloured MG parked at the side of the road? Or a man walking back along the road towards Kelso?

"You may have dash-cam footage that has vital information so we would ask you to check back and come forward with this."

Anyone with any information should contact Police via 101, quoting incident number 2540 of Wednesday, December 4. Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be given in confidence.
