A GALASHIELS man who sent messages to another man challenging him to fight has been fined £160 at Selkirk Sheriff Court.
Greg Donaldson, 33, of Hawthorn Road, pleaded guilty to the offence which happened at Gala Park, Galashiels, on June 25.
He sent text messages of an obscene nature challenging former friend Jamie West to fight, despite him asking to be left alone.
Defence lawyer Robert More said his client had been reacting to something that had been said.
The fine was reduced from £180 due to the guilty plea.
