IT wouldn't quite be Christmas without a visit to Galashiels from the Edinburgh Little Theatre group.

And following last year's hugely successful Mother Goose pantomime, the madcap production company are back at the MacArts with Cinderella.

The talented cast will perform the children's classic on Friday and Saturday (December 20 and 21) evening as well as matinee shows on the Saturday and Sunday.

A spokesman for the MacArts told us: "After the phenomenal success of last year's Mother Goose, Edinburgh Little Theatre are back with their festive production of Cinderella - oh yes, they are!

"Old and young audiences will delight in this hilarious adaptation of the classic tale.

"Featuring all the usual audience participation, as well as some surprises, there’s nothing that gets you in the mood for Christmas more than a good old-fashioned pantomime!"

Edinburgh Little Theatre have been performing for over 25 years.

Showcasing some of the country's best homegrown talent, the company have become firm favourites at the Fringe.

And they are becoming just as popular in the Borders with their festive forays to the MacArts.

Although not a necessity audience members are being encouraged to dress festively for the panto performances.

And mulled wine, mince pies and plenty of festive cheer will be available at all performances.

The curtain goes up on Cinderella at 7.30pm on the Friday and Saturday, as well as 2pm on the Saturday and Sunday.

Tickets, priced at £10 and £8 as well as £30 for a family of four, are available from www.ticketsource.co.uk/macarts or 01896 756 852.
