'Positive line of inquiry' following assault in Peebles High Street
POLICE are following a positive line of inquiry following a vicious assault in Peebles.
The incident happened in the High Street this morning.
An eyewitness told us: "I saw a fight break out and there was lots of blood."
There have also been unconfirmed reports of a man carrying a knife.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Police were called to a premises in Peebles High Street at around 10.40am following reports of a serious assault.
"An ambulance attended and a man was treated at the scene.
"The incident was contained and there was no threat to the wider public.
"Inquiries are ongoing.
"We are following a positive line of inquiry."
