LET'S hope the Mac Arts stage is big enough when the world's most exciting live band embark on their 25th anniversary year with a show in Galashiels.

Salsa Celtica feature no fewer than 11 highly talented musicians hailing from Scotland, Ireland and Cuba.

The band's incredible 25-year career includes creating their own unique style of music, winning awards, hit songs in Latin America and headlining at venues such as the Lincoln Centre in New York.

And to celebrate the remarkable journey, which has taken them from the village halls of Scotland to some of the most prestigious venues and festivals around the globe, they are playing a celebration tour through the start of this year.

And they will pull up at the Mac Arts on Friday, January 31 for a night not to be missed.

A spokeswoman for the Mac Arts told us: "We are thrilled that Salsa Celtica are coming to Mac Arts as one of a few select dates to start off this celebratory year."

Salsa Celtica’s trademark synthesis of Latin American Salsa with Scottish and Irish traditional music has made them huge favourites on live circuits around the world.

The combined depth of rhythm and melodies of salsa and Celtic make Salsa Celtica an irresistible force of passion, energy and joy.

To mark this landmark 25th anniversary year, they will also be appearing at some favourite festivals later in the year, returning to play in Colombia, and will release two compilation albums spanning 25 years of recording.

Tickets, priced at £15 in advance, are available from the Mac Arts box office.

All 11 members of Salsa Celtica will take to the Mac Arts stage from 8pm on Friday, January 31.
