A 71-year-old man has appeared from custody at Jedburgh Sheriff Court accused of being involved in a domestic-related disturbance at a house near Galashiels at the weekend.
Iain Gillespie is charged with assaulting a woman by pushing her on the body to which he pleaded not guilty.
He also denied behaving in a threatening or abusive manner, acting in an aggressive manner and striking his knife with a hand during the incident on Saturday.
Gillespie, who gave an address at a farm near Beattock, will stand trial at Selkirk Sheriff Court on March 12 with an intermediate hearing on February 24 and was released on bail with special conditions.
