A BERWICKSHIRE man has been banned from contacting his former partner for two years after admitting a domestic-related offence.
Graeme Meins pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner at a house in Greenlaw Avenue, Chirnside, and at Harelaw Farm Cottages and elsewhere on various occasions on August 20.
The 24-year-old from Eyemouth admitted shouting and swearing, making threatening, abusive and offensive comments, brandishing a hammer, refusing to allow a woman to leave and driving his vehicle erratically.
A not guilty plea to a charge of careless driving was accepted by the Crown.
Meins, of Queens Road, was fined £275 at Jedburgh Sheriff Court and a two-years non-harassment order was imposed preventing him from having any contact with his former partner.
