Hogmanay drink-driver fined £800 and banned
A GALASHIELS man who drove while more than five times the legal alcohol limit has been banned from the road for 16 months at Selkirk Sheriff Court.
Steven Burns, 33, of Dean Street, pleaded guilty to driving with a breath/alcohol count of 112 microgrammes - the legal limit being 22.
The offence happened in Balmoral Place, Galashiels, on Hogmanay.
In addition to the disqualification period, Burns was fined £800.
