AN appeal has been launched after an elderly woman was hit with an egg in Galashiels.
The incident happened in Forest Gardens.
Two teenagers targeted a house and struck the woman when she went outside to see what was happening.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "At about 2.30pm on Tuesday, January 7, two males threw eggs at a property in Forest Gardens.
"An elderly female was struck by an egg. Fortunately she was not injured.
"The suspects made off in the direction of Balmoral Avenue.
"The two suspects are described as white, aged between 15 and 19 years old, about 5ft9 in height with one of them having dark facial hair and wearing a red hooded top with a black baseball cap underneath.
"Anyone with any information in relation to this incident are asked to contact 101 quoting incident 1714 of January 7.
"Alternatively if you have any information about this, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers 100 per cent anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their anonymous online form at crimestoppers-uk.org"
