A HAWICK man has been found guilty of severely injuring a baby girl to the danger of her life following a trial at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.
Twenty three year old Nathan Brown had denied hitting the child in the face and repeatedly shaking her at a house in Jedburgh in July 2018.
But he was found guilty of the offence by a jury with a majority verdict.
His lawyer had told the trial that Brown had accidentally dropped the child.
Brown - formerly of Eildon Road, Hawick, - will be sentenced at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on February 21.
Last year he was sentenced to 18 months in prison for severely assaulting his partner at the time and endangering her life.
