A 22-year-old man has been ordered to carry out 200 hours unpaid work after assaulting his mother and struggling violently with another woman.
Brad Lewis of Princes Street, Hawick, pleaded guilty to the offences which happened at a house in the town's Roxburghe Drive on November 13.
He was also placed on supervision for 16 months at Jedburgh Sheriff Court - the sentence being an alternative to custody.
