PEEBLES Brownies have been bowled over by the kindness of a local sports club after almost being made homeless.
The 1st Peebles Pack regularly met in the Drill Hall.
But following the fire at Peebles High in November the hall was turned into an ad-hoc classroom - leaving the Brownies without a meeting place.
Up stepped Peebles Bowling Club to allow the girls the use of their clubrooms.
Linda Murray, Leader of Peebles Brownies, said: "The Brownies were going to be homeless just as we were due to have a Promise Night for the five newest members.
"Peebles Bowling Club kindly extended their offer into January which allowed us to meet regularly regardless of the wintry weather."
Earlier this month, with the Drill Hall being made available once more, the Brownies handed over a Thank You banner filled with personal messages and a 'wee minding' gift to Bowling Club committee member Brian Warner.
Linda added: "The banner was to show our appreciation for their generosity."
