POLICE are appealing for help following an attempted parcel snatch in Galashiels on Saturday morning.
The delivery driver managed to fight off the masked thug at around 10.20am in Beech Avenue.
Officers believe a second man nearby was an accomplice.
And they are appealing for help to catch the two men.
Detective Constable Narelle Allan said: “This incident has left the victim understandably shaken and he managed to hold on to the parcel that the suspect tried to take from him which is now undergoing further investigation.
“We’re eager to hear from anyone who may have been in the Beech Avenue area of Galashiels on Saturday morning and who witnessed what happened, or any suspicious behaviour or individuals in the vicinity beforehand.
“Equally anyone with any information to assist our inquiries is urged to come forward.”
The attempted thief was wearing a black balaclava, grey trousers and a black hoodie.
