PEOPLE from across the Borders are invited to the first ever Big Book Sale courtesy of Live Borders.

Booklovers around the region are set to flock to Galashiels later this month for the sale which will help Live Borders clear some of their old books, CDs, and games from local libraries and mobile libraries to make way for new stock.

Biographies, cook books, travel guides and children's books will all be on offer.

Lisa Denham, Connected and Creative Communities Manager at Live Borders told us: “We’re excited to announce our first ever book sale and invite everyone to join us on Saturday, March 21 at the Volunteer Hall, Galashiels.

"This is a one-off opportunity to support your library service and help share the love of reading. The stock that will be on sale is still in good condition and selling it will help us make way for new stock in our libraries and mobile library vans.

"Categories include video games, music CD’s, children’s books, biographies, travel, cookery books and lots more. Proceeds from the sale will be reinvested into the library service, including the purchase of the latest releases.

"On the day, you can learn more about our services, for example, free downloadable audiobooks, e-books, and magazines - and you can hear more about our events, workshops, and the activities we offer to help communities in the Borders to be healthier, happier and stronger.”

The Big Book Sale will be held in the Volunteer Hall, Galashiels on Saturday, March 21, from 10am to 3pm.
