A 23-year-old who breached his curfew has been jailed for four months.
Christopher Rodgers, of Hawick, should have been in his grandparents' home in Eildon Road between the hours of 7pm and 7am after being released on bail with special conditions.
But when police officers checked the house at 8.45pm on Monday (March 16) he was not there and later found intoxicated.
In Jedburgh Sheriff Court, Sheriff Peter Paterson told Rodgers he had been well warned of the consequences of breaching his curfew.
The sheriff added there were exceptional circumstances in the case to justify imposing a short-term sentence of four months in prison.
