THEY do things a little differently in Selkirk - even the graffiti.

Over the past few weeks little mosaic masterpieces have been popping up all over the Royal Burgh.

The tile-sized designs have been found at the entrances to at least half-a-dozen of the town's historic closes.

Local businessman Colin Turnbull said: "It's making folk scratch their heads - in a good way though."

The eye-catching mosaics are believed to be in the style of the Warli tribe of the Maharashtra region of India.

And it is thought each design could represent the name of the close where it appears.
