TWO more care home residents with coronavirus have died in the Borders, according to statistics.
A update from the National Records of Scotland (NRS) was published today (May 20).
The figures show a total of 54 people in the Borders died from COVID-19 in the period up to May 17.
This contrasts with the 48 reported last week, which covered the period up to May 10.
The updated figures show 43 deaths happened in hospitals, while five were in care homes and six were in homes/other non-institutions.
In last week's report, 40 deaths were shown to have happened in hospitals, with three in care homes and five in homes/other non-institutions.
The NRS's weekly report is based on occasions where COVID-19 has been mentioned on a death certificate.
