AN ASSAULT was committed in Galashiels last night (May 20), according to police.
The offence happened on Melrose Road, near the junction with Hawthorn Road, between 8.25pm and 8.45pm, police say.
Officers are now seeking help from the public.
A police spokesperson said: "Anybody who may information that may be able to assist with our enquiry are asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference number 4015 of May 20, 2020.
"You can also provide information anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or by completing their online form."
