A PEEBLES boy cut off his little sister’s hair because he wanted to see her pretty face.

Leo McFadzean, four, decided his two-year-old sister Maddie needed a few inches off her long tresses and began hacking it off with the kitchen scissors.

The siblings had been out in the garden happily bouncing and giggling on the trampoline and told their mum, Kayleigh, they were going inside to get a drink.

When the pair had been suspiciously quiet, Kayleigh went to check on them.

But she was horrified when she walked into the kitchen and found Leo holding scissors – and tot Maddie with her hair shorn.

Kayleigh told us: “I was standing on the steps of our porch chatting to my mum over the garden wall.

"The kids had been jumping on the trampoline and they ran into the kitchen for a drink.

"They seemed to be taking a while and were far too quiet, so I popped through, and Leo was standing with the kitchen scissors chopping into her hair!

“I grabbed the scissors, shouted at him and that set Maddie off crying.”

Although Kayleigh isn't impressed with her daughter’s new hairdo, Maddie is happy with the result.

“Once Maddie had stopped crying, she looked in the mirror and said she loved it and that she looked handsome just like her brother," said Kayleigh.

She added: “When I asked Leo why he did it, he said Maddie’s hair kept getting in her eyes on the trampoline and that he couldn’t see her beautiful face.

“I can laugh now but I was furious at first.

"It will be a funny memory to look back on.

"Safe to say the scissors have been well and truly hidden from their grasp.”
