McDONALD'S in Galashiels has reopened its drive-thru service after closing due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Safety measures are in place at the Wilderhaugh site, which is running with reduced staff.
The drive-thru opened at 11am today (June 3) with a limited menu.
McDonald's says it expects a "high demand" at all of its reopened sites.
The fast food chain has issued a list of the safety measures being rolled out.
These are the new measures at McDonald's
- Social distancing in kitchens and service areas
- Perspex screens at drive-thru windows
- Protective equipment for staff
- Floor markings in the premises
- All staff will be asked to confirm they are healthy and able to work and contactless thermometers will be used to take employees' temperatures on arrival for every shift
- Restaurants will return with smaller teams, offering a limited menu and operating reduced hours
- Encouraging capped spend at £25 per order, with customers encouraged to pay by contactless methods
- Drive-thru customers can browse the menu, order and pay ahead using the My McDonald’s app
