ANOTHER care home resident with coronavirus has died in the Borders, the latest figures show.
The National Records of Scotland (NRS) issued an update today (June 10) stating that nine residents died up to Sunday, June 7.
The toll represents an increase of one compared with last week's update.
Scottish Borders Council (SBC) previously revealed that seven residents had died in Eyemouth's Saltgreens Care Home.
Update - 2pm, June 17, 2020 - Scottish Borders Council sent a statement on June 9 revealing that eight deaths had happened at its care homes (including seven deaths in Eyemouth).
The NRS statistics from June 10 show 68 virus deaths in the Borders, up from 62 last week.
The NRS counts all occasions where COVID-19 has been mentioned on a death certificate.
