NHS Borders says people must wear a face covering when visiting hospitals and practices from tomorrow (June 29).
The rule applied to patients with appointments, as well as people visiting sites "for any other reason".
In a statement, a health board spokesperson said: "From tomorrow please remember to wear a face covering when you attend your appointment or are coming to our sites for any other reason.
"Your nose and mouth should both be covered. If you are unable to wear a face covering please make this known to our staff.
"Thank you for helping us keep people safe."
