MORE than 100 new homes are being planned for Galashiels.

Waverley Housing Association has lodged a planning application with Scottish Borders Council (SBC).

The association is working with Camerons Strachan Yuill Architects in a bid to build 109 houses at Upper Langlee, replacing existing accommodation in the Beech Avenue area.

The planning application follows a study conducted between December 2017 and May 2018.

One of the findings, according to Waverley Housing, was that residents are keen to see “new houses, better communal spaces and a better appearance”.

Existing houses will be demolished if the application is approved.
