A MAN has appeared in court after Borders police found cannabis plants with a potential street value of £416,000.
Officers recovered around 330 plants at an address in Sandbed, Hawick, earlier this week.
Grzegorz Kowalski, 41, appeared in private at Edinburgh Sheriff Court charged with being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug and producing a controlled drug.
He faces a third charge under the 1989 Electricity Act.
Kowalski - who gave an address in the Borders - made no plea and the case was continued for further examination.
Bail was refused and he was remanded in custody.
