THE body of a 38-year-old man was found on the Berwickshire coast at the weekend.

Emergency services were contacted at around 11.20am on Saturday (July 11) when the man's body was spotted on rocks near the village of Cove.

Officers from Police Scotland, assisted by HM Coastguard, recovered the body.

The area was sealed off from beach-goers at nearby Pease Bay for the rest of the day.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal at Jedburgh.

A police spokesperson said:"We can confirm that the body of a 38-year-old man was discovered on the coastline near Cove around 11.20am on Saturday.

"The man's next of kin has been made aware."
