A CONSERVATIVE MSP for the Borders has been given a change of role within her party.
Rachael Hamilton is now the shadow cabinet secretary for social security and older people.
It comes in a reshuffle co-ordinated by Douglas Ross MP, the new leader of the Scottish Conservatives.
Mrs Hamilton – the Holyrood representative for Ettrick, Roxburgh and Berwickshire – said she is “delighted” about the role change.
Mrs Hamilton was first promoted to the shadow cabinet in February when she was unveiled as the shadow cabinet secretary for rural affairs and tourism.
