POLICE have recovered cannabis plants and more than 6,000 pills during raids in the Borders this week.
The controlled drugs were seized in properties in Hawick.
In a statement issued on September 8, Sergeant David Rourke said: “Over the past couple of days we have been executing MDA [Misuse of Drugs Act] warrants in the Hawick area acting on intelligence from the public.
"The Scottish Borders Community Action Team have had some large recoveries in the past couple of years and we are continuously looking to keep the pressure on those who are involved in the supply of drugs.
"Whilst I appreciate there are many differing views on controlled drugs it remains fact they are illegal and indeed identified as one of the key areas of concern in the Borders, highlighted by the residents themselves.
"Over the course of the two days, we have recovered some cannabis plants and over 6,000 controlled tablets."
