THE annual Galashiels pantomime has been cancelled amid continuing coronavirus restrictions.
The Right Angle Theatre Company had been due to stage Dick Whittington at the Volunteer Hall in December.
But organisers have announced they had “no alternative” but to shelve plans.
The company’s business manager Gordon Keddie said: “Due to many factors outwith the company’s control, most of which are down to regulations laid down due to COVID-19, the company had no alternative but to cancel this year’s show.”
The company now hopes to perform Dick Whittington in 2021, having secured the rights and licence again.
Mr Keddie added that the company’s annual general meeting was cancelled in May, but office bearers have agreed to remain in their positions until a meeting is possible.
