A BORDERS man who spat on a window has been ordered to stay at home at night.
David Futter, 41, of Loan, Hawick, behaved in a threatening or abusive manner and spat at a woman’s window.
Futter pleaded guilty to the offence, which happened on the afternoon of September 7.
Jedburgh Sheriff Court heard how the woman heard Futter shouting in the common stairwell of her Hawick flat and making threats towards her before spitting at a bedroom window.
The court heard that Futter was a friend of the woman's neighbour and there had been a neighbourly dispute.
Defence lawyer Robert More said his client acknowledged he had completely over-reacted and wanted to apologise to the woman.
Futter was given a Restriction of Liberty Order keeping him within his home address between the hours of 8pm and 6am.
