A BORDERS man has been jailed for eight months after admitting a series of offences.
William Devlin, 29, of Hawick, pleaded guilty at Jedburgh Sheriff Court to charges of threatening or abusive behaviour and attempting to spit on a police officer during a disturbance at Borders General Hospital.
Devlin had to be removed from the hospital by four police officers.
Defence lawyer Ross Dow said his client had been going through a traumatic time from a personal point of view.
A prison sentence of 242 days was imposed back-dated to October 12.
