During a walk on Wednesday (November 4), Mike Pearson was shocked to come across a "blatant" case of fly-tipping at the Meldons in Peeblesshire.
The rubbish included various children's toys, a fan and a vacuum cleaner.
Mr Pearson told this newspaper: "It's pretty terrible and a bit of an eyesore.
"We were out walking the dog and that's not something you want to come upon."

Scottish Borders Council's neighbourhood services team can handle instances of fly-tipping on public land, but they have no control over private land.
In a bid to help identify the landowner, Mr Pearson shared a photo of the rubbish on a community Facebook page.
He said he had not come across littering on such a scale before at the Meldons, a popular spot for picnics and camping.
The retired business director said: "[The Meldons are] prone to this kind of thing.
"[Littering is] never as obvious as that – you get broken glass and miscellaneous rubbish.
"This was obviously not left by campers.
"I wish it [rubbish] wasn't there."
