THE Borders has recorded a further 10 positive cases of coronavirus over the weekend.

Data released by the Scottish Government today (Monday, November 30) at 2pm revealed that the total number of cases in the Borders during the pandemic now stands at 983.

On Friday (November 27), the overall number of positive coronavirus cases in the region since March was 973.

There are nine people in hospital with the virus in the Borders.

Earlier today, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon reminded people that figures released on Mondays can be lower than usual as some registration offices close over the weekend.

Nationally, Scotland has now recorded 95,058 positive cases and 3,725 deaths since the pandemic began.
