Nicola Sturgeon said it will be announced next week what level of lockdown Glasgow will be under when Level four is lifted in ten days time.

The First Minister said there will be no changes this week to the lockdown levels that apply to council areas across Scotland.

Glasgow and 10 other areas across the county remain in level four until December 11.

The First Minister said at next week's review there will be an opportunity to discuss what levels areas go into after level four is lifted.

Ms Sturgeon said that the number of positive cases was reducing and the numbers in hospital and in intensive care was also lower than in previous weeks.

However, she said: "The level of the virus is still higher than we need it to be."

She said as we go deeper into winter there is still the risk that cases could go up and additional pressure is put on the health service again

The latest daily statistics showed there had been 34 deaths registered in the last 24 hours of a person who had tested positive in the last 28 days.

There were 754 new cases recorded across Scotland. There were 1021 people in hospital with Covid-19 a reduction of 20 and there were 70 people in intensive care, a decrease of 5.
